ROTTERDAM
Alida Glasbeek is an artist based in Rotterdam. She works on the intersection between art, science and technology. Her work is an exploration of how we perceive and construct our reality through the prism of our senses and psychological processes. With her work she aims to challenge perceptions, inviting us to ponder on our sensory experiences, shaped by various actors, human tendencies and historical implications. For Alida, technology serves as a versatile medium through which she crafts her artistic expressions.
Alida started her career as a Graphic Designer and pivoted to a multi-disciplinary approach. During her masters ArtScience at the Royal Academy of Art in the Hague, she took extra-curricular courses at Utrecht University and Leiden University, where she studied Philosophy of the Arts, Sensation & Perception, and Behavioural Sciences to further delve into the scientific basis of experience and behaviour.
